Dr. Joon Song, an obstetrician/gynecologist’s son, has been in the gynecological field since 1992, receiving a medical degree from Chung Nam National University in South Korea. He did his five year residency at South Korea National Medical Center and served as a medical doctor for the South Korean military for three years. With a PhD earned from Korea University in gynecology and obstetrics, Dr. Joon Song spent two years as an associate research scientist and two years completing a fellowship in reproductive biology at Yale University. In 2007, he completed his U.S. residency at Nassua University Medical center, affiliate program of Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Also, he served as an attending physician for gynecological and endoscopic surgery, at Nassau University Medical Center and New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens. He became a clinical assistant professor at Stony Brook and later arrived at the New York Langone Medical faculty as a clinical associate professor in 2010.

In 2012, he opened up his own private practice with focuses on all areas of women’s gynecological health conditions ranging anywhere from annual examinations to surgical solutions. Outside of robotic surgery, Dr. Song also has a deep understanding of women’s sex hormones and their biological influences, because of his extensive research experience in the field. It brings a unique combination of both surgical and non-surgical expertise.

With over 20 years of clinical experience, an established private practice since 2012, and extensive research in the fields of sex hormones, women’s health, breast cancer, gynecologic surgery techniques, and intraperitoneal adhesions, Dr. Joon Song is a top surgeon in minimally-invasive robotic surgery.  Dr. Song is certified and recognized by CSATS (a peer-reviewed quality assurance program) as a top robotic myonmectomy surgeon with over 3,000 robotic-assisted and laparoscopic procedures performed.   He has extensive training in reproductive medicine that include treating conditions like endometriosis, uterine bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, adenomyosis, tubal ligation, infertility, and pelvic organ prolapse.   Beyond this, his practice provides treatment options like office surgery, radiology and bio-marker evaluations, and uses the most-updated pharmaceutical approaches.

Awards and publications include a President Award from the Society for Gynecology Investigation and the Young Scientist Award from the Japanese OB/GYN Society.
